Relief and Rehabilitation

A program to provide relief and rehabilitation to Muslim victims of sectarian violence and natural disasters in India. Help is channeled through existing Muslim charities and orphanages in India.

  • 2018:
    Kerala Flood Relief Fund: AIM has provided financial help to victims of floods in Kerala.
  • 2005:
    Tsunami disaster: AIM raised and provided $25,000 in relief help to victims of the Tsunami disaster in Tamil Nadu and Kerala through Muslim Service Society in Calicut to rebuild houses.
  • 2002-2003:
    Gujarat genocide: In the aftermath of the massacre of Muslims in Gujarat, organized fundraising events in several cities in Eastern US, collected about $200,000, and distributed the money to the victims in Gujarat through several charitable organizations. The funds were utilized to build a very large number of houses and re-build damaged houses for the thousands of victims of the 2002 genocide of Muslims in Gujarat.
  • 2001:
    Earthquake in Gujarat: Raised and distributed relief funds ($25,000) for the victims of the earthquake in Gujarat.
  • 1999:
    Sectarian Violence in Kosovo: Raised and distributed relief funds ($5,000) for the victims of the massacres in Kosovo.
  • 1998:
    Cyclones: Raised and distributed relief funds ($5,000) for the victims of cyclones in Orissa and Gujarat.
  • 1991:
    Sectarian riots: Organized a fundraising dinner, collected $25,000 in donations and distributed it to victims of sectarian riots in Hyderabad, Delhi and Ahmadabad.
  • 1987:
    The AIM Relief and Rehabilitation Fund established to help the needy Muslims in India.
