    1. Anjuman Islam, Mumbai: 2 engineering colleges. Saboo Siddiq Engineering College, Mumbai; Abdul Razzaq Kalsekar Engineering College, Panvel. Scholarships to needy students. Grant of $15,000 (Rs 12 lakh)


    2. Sir Syed National Schools: Two schools: a. Jamia Nagar ( Upto Class X; 300students, 14 teachers) Delhi. b. Sardhana, Meerut district, U.P. (upto Class VIII, 150 students, 9 teachers). In each school we built a computer lab with 15 computers. Grant of $25,000 (Rs 20.7 lakh)


    3. UMMEED education welfare schools, Aligarh. They operate 20 primary schools (1100 students, 25 teachers) in slums in Aligarh district, UP. Grant of $15,000 (Rs 12.5 lakh). Students are children of domestic workers and other menial job workers, living in slums in the city. UMMEED has rented rooms and verandas in several houses in the area, to run these centers, each having about 30 children and 2 teachers to impart basic education preparing the students to get them enrolled in govt schools.


    4. Utkarsh Womens’ Committee, Ali Tutoring Classes, Jamalpur, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. (200 students, 9 teachers, Class 1 to 9). Evening supplementary tutoring/teaching program for children from poor families. Grant of $9,000 (Rs 7.5 lakh)


    5. ASHA Education Trust, Varanasi, U P. Program to give scholarship to poor students in colleges and schools in U.P. and Kerala. Grant of $5,000 (Rs 4.2 lakh). ASHA is an educational NGO that helps poor families with college and school tuition fees, cost of books etc for students in colleges and schools.


    6. Scholarship to students at Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad. $4,000 (Rs 3.2 lakh)
